Amazing Good self-esteem is an issue for many of us. Low self-esteem can affect us in so many ways — I could do an almost endless list here. Self-esteem is called that because it’s what we do to ourselves. It rarely matches how others really see us.

Today’s inspiration is about not allowing self-esteem to limit our growth and potential, but rather the ways that we can discover all we are capable of doing. All the wonderful things we can achieve.

Most of us know a person who is amazing, and yet they don’t know it. Perhaps several people. We look at them and wonder “how could they not know?”

What about adding yourself to that list of people?

Generally there is no one meaner to us…than us! Listen to your head chatter a bit. Is it saying, “I didn’t do that right”? Or, “I messed up AGAIN!”? The thing is that we rarely see ourselves as others see us.

Let’s play a game today. Find someone you know - a friend or someone you feel reasonably comfortable around. As them to write down five things about you that they like and things they think you do well. To make this less scary you could do the same for them. I say that because I know a few of you reading this just got a feeling in the pit of your stomach - that fear that what if they didn’t have anything good to write about you?

Ah, the Catch-22 of low self-esteem. You don’t feel good about yourself - but if you asked someone else might reinforce that opinion. So you don’t ask. However, again most of us do not see ourselves as others do. I bet you are amazing and you just don’t know it! (Today’s affirmation is: “I am Amazing!”)

Oh wow - I am beginning to sound like Tom Cruise when he first met Katie Holmes. Well you know what? The “word of the day” is: Amazing!
