Or should I say Reality TV?

Okay, I do get sucked into watching it sometimes.  This season I decided to watch The Bachelorette as I liked Jillian Harris from last season.

I should know better as this show is produced by Mike Fleiss who does not want a show with romance, he only goes for drama.  If there is none - he’ll just edit it in.  Doesn’t matter if he tries to ruin people’s reputations along the way.

This season has been over-the-top with editing and what is known as “splice and dice”.   That means the editors on the show will take one word someone said, and add one from another sentence - from an entirely different time and place - and just add it in.  That way they can get whole sentences that the person never said!    The sad thing is that the average viewer believes it was what was said.

The producers and editors create whole characters and storylines and run with it.  Doesn’t matter that the person isn’t like that, never said that, or wouldn’t in a million years say or do that.  Drama is all that matters.

This season they’ve really stuck it to Wes Hayden.  Yep, he’s the bad boy with an agenda to sell his CD and only that.   Yes, Wes does have a CD (and one I’ve purchased and really like) called Full Circle.  He wrote a song for Jillian called “It Don’t Take That Long”.  Of course they only ever played ONE line from it - and played that one line over and over.

Of course everyone started hating the “song” even though they’d never bothered to HEAR the whole song.   Then the producers wanted to make him look like he was a snake saying he was only there for the fame.  They even went as far as editing a PI (personal interview) to make it sound that way.   I don’t recall the exact wording, but it was along the lines of “it comes inside of me, I can feel it and taste it - the fame”.  Funny they showed that SAME PI …only next time they used the word “success” instead of fame.  How many times would you say the same five or six sentences, using the same exact mannerisms …but change ONE word?    Proof of spice and dice edit.  What they really asked him about was what his songwriting muse was about.

Then they implied he told another contestant about his girlfriend.  Only what you don’t know was it was a former girlfriend.  (who has come out and stated that she is not his present girlfriend).  Too bad - damage done.

Most people who don’t know about how this show works think he’s this horrible person.  I’ve seen people on the message boards go as far as saying people should boycott his CD’s and ruin his career.

I can see through the edit.  While I don’t know him personally, I have spoken to him a few times in messages and have consistently found him to be a polite and sincere person.  Therefore, if a few people can try and ruin his career, then maybe a few people can counteract that.  I am going on record as saying I LIKE Wes Hayden and believe him.  He may not be an angel (who is?) but he’s a decent man.  A true southern gentleman.

Looks like even Entertainment Weekly recognizes Adam as THE contestant on American Idol this season.

Well, true they have to sneak in the blurb about his likely being gay.  So what if he’s gay?  He can sing like I’ve never heard before.  It’s a singing contest.

Okay, even I have to admit that its really more a popularity contest as its about who gets the most votes.  But that brings me back to Entertainment Weekly putting him on the cover.  First time that a contestant has been on the cover BEFORE the finale.

Like Adam?  Vote for him.  If you have AT&T you can text vote.  (no busy signals)

Yes I’m a Glambert.  Yes, I support him.  Yes, I’ve been blogging all over the place about him.  Why?  He’s THAT good.

…oh wait.  That wasn’t a cat.  That was Danny Gokey “singing”.  Oh, in the name of all that’s holy - what WAS that?!!

Okay, I know I’ll get lambasted by Danny fans.  I’ll admit that I am a total fan of “all things Adam Lambert”.  The guy is beyond anything . or. anyone. ever. on. American. Idol. EVER.

The thing is, though, I started out liking Danny.  Not loving him like I do Adam of course.  But I did like him.  That’s okay, it’s allowed to like more than one contestant.  All the publicity about his dead wife pulls at the heartstrongs.  And he does have talent.  However, as the show progressed I started not liking him.  He sounded the same each week.  Well, gotta give him credit - LAST night’s song did sound … different.  That wasn’t a good thing.  And his personality is starting to really come out and that’s not a good thing either.  I found myself several weeks ago thinking he was a bit smarmy and arrogant.  Thought it was just me…maybe.  Don’t think so.

Okay, let’s get back to things that MATTER …like striped pants!   He wore zipper pants too.  I digress into places that definitely are not family-rated…

Back to reality and talking about his talent:

Adam consistently brings it each and every week.  I personally don’t believe AI has ever had a contestant of this caliber ever.   I live for Tuesdays and Wednesdays lately.  I purchase his songs from I-Tunes.  Even bought an AT&T phone so I could text vote.  (can you see $$ Simon?)

He’s even getting me in the rarest of all places for me lately.  The stadium.  I will be seeing Adam on the American Idols tour.

Hello!

So, here is the deal with the shirt:

The shirt we’re talking about is the black and white striped one Adam wore on a results show a few weeks back with rainbow lips on it (with the word ’super’ inside). As decided on the other thread with this info that got deleted, this has been chosen as the official Glambert shirt (for the tour, etc).

For some reason, we can’t discuss this shirt on the boards, so everyone is communicating about it through PMs. Two members (who I believe are from here), LuvAdam and daisychain9 are working together to get these shirts available to order for anyone who wants one. The original shirt comes from a store called Joy Rich out in California. We know this is the exact shirt because someone spoke to an employee at the store who saw him come in with two bodyguards. They didn’t know who he was at first, haha.

The two people I mentioned before have been talking with the manager of Joy Rich and trying to get details worked out on how to make a large amount of these shirts that we could then purchase. There was a “meeting” last night over at The Glambert Rock, and they are still trying to get a lot of the details worked out. I believe they are talking with the manager again soon.

Very long story short, if you are interested in getting a shirt, or getting more information about this shirt as it becomes available, please email the following address letting them know you are interested:

As they find out details, about when/where to order, sizes, pricing, etc, they’ll email you. Hello everyone!

Wow, it’s been forever since I did a blog post.  Amazing how time flies right by.  Things are good here though, so no worries.

Okay so I have been sucked in by American Idol this season.  I really haven’t watched since Season 2.  (and yes, I still truly think Clay should have …or did…win over Ruben)  I sometimes watch the auditions and then get bored.  THIS season is different.

I liked Danny Gokey in the very beginning but was intrigued by Adam Lambert.  As the weeks have gone by I’m saying “Danny who?” and it’s all about Adam!

If you read the fan sites people either really love him or they hate him.  Very few in betweens.  I just adore him!  I am amazed by his voice, showmanship and his all around class.  First contestant I have ever heard of thanking the band.

I was a little scared of what he’d do on Country night.  Somehow Country and Adam Lambert don’t seem to mix.   I shouldn’t have worried.  His Ring of Fire was unlike any version I’d ever heard.  I have it on my IPOD Touch and I play it daily.   (I sure hope that AI and ITunes give the contestants some financial compensastion…)

I have also heard that Adam is obsessed with Astrology.  Hey Adam….I do astrology!

Good morning all!    I had promised that I would do a post when I received the Edward/Bella bracelet fashioned around the one in the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

I actually received the bracelet VERY quickly after ordering it from Lara, but it’s been me who has been too busy to post.

Now, there are TONS of these out there, especially on eBay.  Some look great, and well, others not-so-great.   I decided to email Lara as I liked the looks of hers.  She emailed me back quickly and I told her what I wanted as she gives a choice on the color of the crystal heart, what kind of clasp you want (lobster or toggle), as well as the size of the chain.

I decided on the clear Austrian crystal and the lobster clasp.

The picture here doesn’t do it justice.  I was very happy when I received it - it is indeed very lovely.  It looks dainty, yet I don’t have fear of it breaking easily.  The heart really catches the light and reflects the colors of the rainbow.   A definite must-have for Twilight fans.   I’m going to wear mine to the preview of the movie in November.

Good morning!  Yes, I’m talking about vampires again!  (see, I really can talk about something else besides Freebie Force and the fact that today is payday and I’m going to get paid….)

Any of my regular blog fans know I love good vampire stories, movies, television, and literature.   Of course we lost the good television part with the cancellation of Moonlight.   I’ll say it again:  CBS - you blew it!

But, I do love the Internet.  Where else can you so quickly connect with others who share your interests?  I’ve just recently been drawn into the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.  I talked about that in my recent post, Vampire Love

I really love this series and if you even remotely like vampire lit - you MUST read this series.  Or at least read Twilight.  (you’ll get hooked, trust me)  The fun part is that these books, and their author, Stephenie Meyer, have a HUGE fan base.    A Google search shows pages of fan message boards and sites.

I thought it would be fun to connect with others who love the books so did a Yahoo Groups search.  I belong to several Yahoo Groups, and even run one on EFT/Abraham-Hicks, so figured there would have to be one for Twilight.  Sure enough, up popped The_Twilight_Chat_Group.   It’s got 400+ members and is growing every day.    I joined and have found them to be a very friendly and informative bunch of people from all walks of life and ages.   GREAT fun for Twilight fans.  (warning:  they ARE a very chatty bunch, so if you decided to join and receive individual emails expect upwards of 250+ a day!)

It is a moderated group — which I personally like.   Why?  It’s not because of censorship - but to help get rid of the spammers that love to invade chat groups.  It also keeps the group “family-friendly” which is good for this group as it does attract a very wide age-range.

So, do you like Twilight and would you like to connect with other obsessed fans?   (okay that IS a joke - I am nuts about this series too…)  So much so that I actually also did a search to see if there were bracelets out there inspired by the charm bracelet Bella wears in the book.  Of course there were!   I actually just ordered one.  You’ll find many, for example, on eBay - some that look pretty darned good, and of course others that don’t look quite so nice.  I settled on one done by a woman named Lara.    I loved the look of hers and we talked back and forth via email.  Very nice woman, I liked the looks of it in the picture, so I decided to give it a try.  I’ll let you know when it comes in and what I think of it.

In case you don’t know the movie comes out on November 21st.  It originally was going to be released on December 12th.  However, the Harry Potter movie was pushed back to 2009 and Twilight jumped in and took the opening.

Now…anyone up for a midnight Twilight movie release outing?
